This coming Sunday 06.03.2011, you will walk with Dave in Benigembla. You will meet at 10.00 at the bar Bonaire (good air). You will find the bar when, coming from the direction of Jalón, you arrive at the first roundabout, you drive on over the sleeping policemen and a bit further you will see the bar on the corner at your right hand side. Dave will take you along for a very beautiful walk with only a few slopes, that will take a bit less than 2 hours.
While you are walking I will be on a course in Madrid preparing for my next exam in empty hand art, also called kara-te (= empty hand).

Dave estará vuestro guia durante una caminata en Benigembla de casi dos horas. El punto de encuentro al dia 06.03.2011 a las 10.00 de la mañana es el bar Bonaire en Benigembla. Hay que tener en cuenta que tienes que subir unas cuestas antes de poder bajar.

Pues, he recibido un mensaje de nuestra amiga Jeni y vamos a preparar una caminata cerca de la FONT SALADA en el marjal de Pego.

Hello Bruno,
Instead of languishing in bed this morning, Miyou and I got up early and went off to Font Salada in search of a new walk and we are pleased to tell you that we’ve found one, carefully checked out including sampling of coffee and bocadillos
It’s in the Pego wetlands, where we searched once before but couldn’t find.
I parked up at Font Salada (plenty of parking), where the little café bar is and headed out alongside the café, crossed an interesting weir over the water and found a loop which took about 1.5 hrs ending back at the café. It’s on the flat and goes through the national wetland park alongside rivers and irrigation canals, only 2 cars passed us during the walk. Lots of wild birds and only 3 pine trees (including a peacock near the café).
The only difficulty I can see is that coming in on the N332 from the direction of Denia there is no left turn into Font Salada, which means having to drive a little further toward Oliva and coming off at the poligono, under the carretera and back toward Denia, so that you can then turn in on the right
Would you like me to show you the circuit or do you trust me to add it to your portfolio?? Perhaps we could do it in the next couple of weeks

Carlos el handyman de Orba

Many of you know Carlos Lara, as he has been walking with us dozens of times.
When Pam leaves for another country he takes care of her dog.
But he can help us with many more things.
When something went wrong in our bathroom, we called Carlos and he repaired everything quickly and efficiently.
When Mike and Heidi in Alcalalí where freezing although they have central heating he not only discovered the problem but also offered the solution.
When Rod and Jazz had difficulties in their kitchen in Lliber, they called Carlos and he took care of the problems.
So, my advice for you is to call Carlos on 619 366 467 if you need help for any problem you have in your home or in your garden.
And even if you have not bothered to learn a few words in Spanish, do not hesitate to call Bruno on 690 192 976, and I will translate your request for Carlos. He is a very good friend and with a smile on my face I will be your interpreter.

Sandra has found a dog.

Many thanks for your help in trying to find me a dog.
I have taken a 15 month old Mastine x which was in the local shelter. I got him yesterday on a two week trial. I have to say, I am very pleased with him up to now. He is quite a find. He is so wanting to please, he has a lovely temperament. I think judging by the loss of hair round his neck, he probably spent his life on the end of a chain, so he will have a much pleasanter time with me. As you say, I am not telling him I feel sorry for him for his past life, I am saying these are the rules and that is that. When I think he has only been here 24 hrs, you can tell he is very content, he does want to be here. He isn´t pacing about, he is a very laid back lad. He doesn´t know what a bed is, he doesn´t know that you eat your food from a bowel. I have to tip it on the floor before he eats it, but Rome wasn´t built in a day. At first I thought he wasn´t house trained, as he tried to pee up the first wall he saw, but he got told off for that, and he hasn´t done it since, so it might be something he got used to doing in the shelter.
Anyway, wish me luck with him, because I hope we are together for a very long time to come.

Las letradas de LegalCat Abogados nos hacermos cargo de casos de maltrato animal de forma GRATUITA, comparecencias en juicios incluidas.
Porqué ? Pues porque con demasiada frecuencia estos casos quedan impunes al no disponer los testigos de dinero para hacer frente a los costosos honorarios de los letrados intervinientes, que suelen oscilar entre 2000 y 6000€, dependiendo del caso y de si hay apelaciones o no.
También hay que tener en cuenta que en muchas ocasiones el animal maltratado está abandonado, es decir, que el testigo si se decide a denunciar ha de hacer frente a los gastos de un proceso judicial por un animal que no es suyo, lo cual dificulta aún más que se denuncie. Por ello, hartas ya de noticias de maltrato un día sí y otro también, pensamos que será una buena forma de ayudar a que esos casos no queden impunes.
Qué esperamos conseguir? Una avalancha tal de denuncias y procesos que haga que nuestros queridos políticos se percaten de que el tema del maltrato preocupa de tal forma a la sociedad que haga que se endurezcan aún más las leyes. También, que los maltratadores se desmotiven al percatarse de que las posibilidades de sentarse en el banquillo han aumentado.
Sin embargo, permítannos una serie de consideraciones:
1.- Los clientes para los que trabajamos "pro bono" son los animales, no sus dueños ni las personas. Eso significa que si alguno de ustedes precisa un abogado para un tema personal y decide que le representemos nosotras, se le cobrará por nuestro trabajo al igual que ustedes cobran por el suyo. Decimos ésto porque con demasiada frecuencia se han dado situaciones violentas o azoradas al creerse algunos animalistas que en el saco de la gratuidad cabían procesos "humanos" de divorcios, herencias, etc. Para que estas incomodidades no se produzcan, les rogamos que no las planteen y así nos evitamos malos entendidos.
Sepan que estamos a su disposición si precisan un abogado para problemas propios, pero siempre siguiendo las pautas orientativas que, para el cobro de honorarios, establecen los Colegios de Abogados.
2.- Si bien nuestro trabajo gozará de gratuidad, habrán de sufragarse los gastos que se deriven de él, como por ejemplo los del envío de burofaxes o los de la intervención de procuradores y/o notarios. Evidentemente, la firma no correrá con ellos.
3.- Tengan en cuenta que el abogado NO denuncia aunque puede ayudarles a redactar un escrito para presentarlo ante la policía si es necesario. La denuncia la interpone el particular con un interés legítimo, ya sea porque el animal maltratado es suyo o porque ha sido testigo de ese maltrato, o una asociación animalista de quién el interés se presume dadas sus actividades.
Queremos aclarar este tema porque con frecuencia recibimos información para que denunciemos en nuestro nombre y ello no es posible. No somos el SEPRONA, ni una asociación proteccionista. Por tanto, la titularidad de la denuncia ha de ser siempre de las personas o entidades a las que representaremos.
4.- Asimismo, después de la constatación de que en foros, eventos y grupos animalistas se producen con frecuencia insultos, difamaciones e incluso calumnias entre sus participantes y en bastantes ocasiones dirigidas a profesionales que sólo hacen su trabajo, quede claro que nosotros no somos un despacho de abogados animalista, somos un despacho de abogados que se encarga de casos animalistas puntualmente y entre otros. En este sentido, decidimos realizar un voluntariado pero tal y como se deduce de la propia palabra "voluntariado", éste se llevará a cabo en aquellos casos en los que de común acuerdo los letrados del bufete decidan, reservándonos el derecho a aceptar o denegar la prestación según nuestro criterio.
5.- En ningún caso se aceptarán aquellos asuntos planteados por personas que se dediquen a insultar, difamar o malmeter a otras en foros, redes sociales, o por cualquier medio de comunicación pública o privada. Evidentemente y con más motivo, excluiremos de nuestra prestación de servicios aquellos casos relacionados con personas que hayan injuriado a los miembros del despacho o a sus colaboradores.
Estamos cansadas de leer groserías, palabras soeces e insinuaciones faltando al respeto a otras personas por el simple hecho de no estar de acuerdo con algún planteamiento personal entre los denominados animalistas, quienes por lo visto son en general personas con muy bajo nivel de tolerancia y generadores de conflictos de forma habitual. Incluso algunos miembros del despacho se han visto involucrados muy a su pesar, en este tipo de situaciones descritas.
Hay que empezar a aceptar que las personas somos responsables de nuestras palabras y que éstas pueden traer consecuencias, sobretodo a partir de la reciente reforma del Código Penal Español. Nadie puede ser discriminado por razón de raza, sexo, orientación sexual u opinión. Existe libertad de expresión individual sí, pero la línea que separa esa libertad y la necesidad de respeto hacia los demás jamás ha de ser cruzada porque entonces se convierte en libertinaje.
Las redes sociales no han de ser un medio para que se violen los derechos fundamentales de las personas y quién lo haga excluirá a sus animales de nuestra prestación gratuita, aunque no dudamos de que encontrarán con facilidad otros despachos incluso más competentes que el nuestro para que les defiendan.
6.- Obviamente, nos reservamos el derecho de iniciar acciones legales sin previo aviso a las personas que ataquen con ánimo difamatorio o injurioso a este bufete o a cualquiera de sus miembros.
Si verdaderamente quiere a sus animales, no les excluya con su comportamiento. Pueden necesitarnos.
Esperamos ayudar a hacer más difícil esa extendida lacra social que es el maltrato animal. Decirles también, que como abogados adheridos a la organización americana ANIMAL LEGAL DEFENSE FUND www.aldf.org les informamos de los casos de maltrato en los que intervenimos como letradas y ellos los difunden ampliamente en sus up-dates.

The Monte Pego Theatre Company is in rehearsal for its Spring Production Mixed Doubles, performing on 31 March, 1 and 2 April, at the theatre in Rafol d’Almunia.
Because of the nature of the show, we are using three directors, Debbie Wallis and Jeff and Jane Corbett. These three members are also appearing in the show and here we see Jeff and Jane in a sketch about adultery. This is an entertainment on marriage and starts with the wedding, and continues through the beginnings of a honeymoon, infidelity, togetherness, and remembering; showing tolerance, habits, lack of sensitivity and the comfort of being almost one person in two skins. I am afraid, though, that the woman seems to come out on top throughout! Just like life?

How could anybody find your messages boring. On the contrary they are interesting and show the way forward for many people.
I have to tell you that my Rottweiler Ruby will not be with me for much longer. She had a large tumour removed from both sides of her throat two weeks ago. The vet said he lasered as much as he could, but he could not get it all, and that it would return, and also go to the lungs. He said she would have two months to live MAYBE.
She had the surgery as I said two weeks ago, and I think it has returned already. She gags a lot, and her breathing is not good. So as I say, I do not think I will have my old friend for very much longer.
The laboratory has confirmed it is a cancer, and a melanoma that is not treatable, even if I wanted to treat it.
In time, do you know of any labradors that need a new home for some reason. I don´t want a dog that is on the dangerous dog list as Ruby´s breed is, but there are a lot of robberies going on on the urbanisation that I live on, and apart from needing a companion (as I don´t know if you remember, my husband died last November) I think even a labrador would be a deterrent. I think the robberies must be due to the recession, and people have no money and no work at the moment. I like labradors I have had a couple in the past, or a retriever. I think I could offer one a good and loving home with me.

The vet said he lasered as much as he could, but he could not get it all, and that it would return, and also go to the lungs. He said she would have two months to live MAYBE.
She had the surgery as I said two weeks ago, and I think it has returned already. She gags a lot, and her breathing is not good. So as I say, I do not think I will have my old friend for very much longer.
The laboratory has confirmed it is a cancer, and a melanoma that is not treatable, even if I wanted to treat it.
In time, do you know of any labradors that need a new home for some reason. I don´t want a dog that is on the dangerous dog list as Ruby´s breed is, but there are a lot of robberies going on on the urbanisation that I live on, and apart from needing a companion (as I don´t know if you remember, my husband died last November) I think even a labrador would be a deterrent. I think the robberies must be due to the recession, and people have no money and no work at the moment. I like labradors I have had a couple in the past, or a retriever. I think I could offer one a good and loving home with me.

Blossoms in Castell de Castells 27.02.2011
Dear friends/ Queridas/os amigas/os,
To read means to pay attention. To concentrate.
But sometimes it is difficult for us to concentrate.
Sometimes you read this blog and do not fully understand.
I am as clear as I possibly can.
Leer es hacer caso. Es concentrarse.
A veces es difícil de concentrarse.
A veces estás leendo el blog sin entender cada detalle.
Me voy a darte la información más clara que hay.
Therefore the first thing I have to say here is that on Sunday 20.02.2011, we walk in Jalón.
Por eso, la primera cosa que quiero repetir es que el domingo 20.02.2011, saldremos a Jalón

We will have a close look at the blossoms in Castell de Castells.
Harry will take us along on a rediscovered track with only a short climb. He is expecting fit dogs and fit owners without high heels. The walk will take about 2 hours - maybe a bit more if we are walking really slowly.
Start is at 10.30 at the camping site. After the walk we stay together for a picnic.
So bring along as much food and drinks as you can. Do not forget a cushion as the benches tend to turn our beautiful bottoms into fridges.
If you do not know where Castell de Castells is..... If you do not have a map.... If you think you will get lost and end up in Cordoba, .....come to the tourist office in Jalón where I will wait for you till 10.00, and not one minute later.
Vamos a admirar las flores de los almendros en Castell de Castells.
Con Harry come guia descubriremos una senda antigua y redescubierta en la cual hay solo una cuesta inclinada. Harry prefiere caminar con perros y dueñas/os en buena forma fisica.
Se ruega dejar zapatos con tapillas en casa. Dipende si caminamos despacio o muy despacio, pero hay que contar con 2 horas o un poco más.
Saldremos a la plaza de acampamiento a las 10.30 y después de la caminata nos quedaremos todos juntos por el picnic tradicional.
Hay que traer un maximo de alimentos y bebidas y tambien un cojin porque los bancos de piedra cada vez intentan de transformar nuestro culo muy lindo en nevera.
Si no sabes donde se encuentra Castell de Castells.
Si no tienes mapa.
Si te temes de llegar a Cordoba en lugar de a Castell de Castells, esperaré por tí hasta las 10.00 (y ni un minuto más)a la Oficina de Turismo en Jalón/Xaló.

Blossom walk in Jalón
In the very first place I want to thank Trevor very much for the magnificent walk you prepared for us in Benimelí.
You accepted the challenge and stepped forward in order to do a recce for this walk. Great! May it not be the last time you do this for us.
This coming Sunday 20.02.2011 we will meet at 10.00 in Jalón, on the parking lot of the rastro, close to the Tourist Office. I will take you along amongst the almond blossoms for an easy two hour walk.
And by the way, why are you waiting with your comments for this blog?

Benimeli sin Ellen 13.02.2011
Dear friends walking with dogs,
This coming Sunday 13.02.2011 we will walk in Benimeli. We will meet at the pharmacy at 10.00 and our guide(s) will not be Ellen. As far as I know she is exploring the African country Cameroon. But... For the first time since I started these walks in the year 1302 a couple of friends we all know very well, stepped forward. They are going to do some more stepping forward during a recce on Thursday and then show us the result of their efforts on Sunday.
Starting in Orba, where we were last Sunday, you will drive to Tormos, then to Sagra then to Rafol d'Almunia and the next village is Benimeli.
Unfortunately I have received some complaints about the fact that there was no speech last Sunday. Please accept my sincerest apologies

El domingo 13.02.2011 saldremos por una caminata en Benimeli. Por la primera vez lo haremos sin la asistencia de Ellen porque ella se encuentra todavia en Camerun.
Pero, mira lo que pasa: Hay una paraja de amigos que conocemos todos y ellos se han presentado como guias.
Es la primera vez que una paraeja ha tomado éste iniciativa. La primera vez desde 1302, el año en lo cual yo he hecho la primera caminata canina en La Costa Blanca.
Para encontrar Benimeli, saliendo de Orba en dirección Tormos tienes que pasar por Sagra y Rafol d'Almunia y pues lo verás que el proximo pueblo se llama Benimeli.
Desafortunadamente he recibido quejas porque no habia una charla, más o menos histócia, antes de la caminata en Orba. Le ruego me disculpe.

Sunday/Domingo 06.02.2011
Dear friends/Queridas/os amigas/os,Liebe Freunde,
Thinking about the many nests with processionary caterpillars we can already see in pine trees, I prefer to go walking in an area with a minimum of pinos. These caterpillars are lethal for our dogs.
Therefore I have chosen Orba, where we will meet on the old parking lot of the cemetery, this coming Sunday 06.02.2011, at 10.00.
He visto yá un montón de nidos de orugas procesionarias. Estas orugas son mortiferas para nuestros mascotas. Por eso prefiero caminar en un lugar donde hay solo un mínimo de pinos. El domingo que viene, el dia 06.02.2011, vamos a salir en Orba, donde nos encontraremos a las 10.00 en el aparcamiento antiguo del cementerio.

Diesen kommenden Sonntag 06.02.2011 werden wir einen Spaziergang machen in Orba. Wir werden uns spaetestens um 10.00 treffen auf dem Parkplatz beim Friedhof. Es befindet sich rechts von der Strasse die von Orba nach Tormos lauft und die Zypressen die da stehen sind sehr gut sichtbar.
